The Finance team is hiring for a Senior Accountant.
The Senior Accountant at Cboe Clear will be involved in the accounting activities, with the scope of preparation of the balance sheet and profit and loss account. You will perform pre/post-closing journal entries and related activities, including reconciliations in the general ledger.
In this role you’ll be responsible for:
- Review and management of Accounts Payable process (including credit card and cost reimbursement), applying relevant accounting principles and tax treatments;
- Preparing and monitoring monthly cost allocations and recharges in intercompany accounts;
- Preparation of ledger accounting, including (review of) controls of daily activities;
- Preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements to meet the Group’s deadlines (balance sheet, P/L, cash flow, off-balance sheet, impact of US GAAP);
- Monitoring the financial records (income, costs, balance sheet, regulatory capital) with the aim of ensuring that the figures are correct;
- Preparation and filling of VAT and corporation tax returns;
- Preparation and implementation of accounting and financial policies of the company;
- Participation in the department’s control governance, including SOX compliance as required by the group;
- Monitoring and analyzing balance sheet accounts and take immediate action for reconciling any difference;
- Addressing any ad-hoc requirements received from the company’s management, group finance, internal and external auditors, other departments in the company;
- Related internal and external audit activities;
- Improvement of efficiency amongst others through automation.
The ideal candidate has:
- Bachelor, preferably Master degree, in Accounting
- You have at least three years’ experience in an accountant role or similar
- Knowledge of IFRS and preferably Dutch GAAP
- Capable of resourceful problem solving and looking for improvements continuously
- Comfortable in a very fluid environment that changes as the business evolves
- Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office tools, especially Excel
- Fluent in English, written and verbal is a must
- Knowledge of VAT/GST regulations is preferable
