The Opportunity
Step into the role of Data Sales Manager and lead the charge in your region, whether in Asia or the US. Dive into a world of opportunities where you will forge and nurture complex relationships with prestigious institutional clients, including those in the Crypto and Digital Asset sectors and top-tier financial institutions. This position is tailored for a seasoned sales professional who thrives in regulated environments and possesses an extensive network of C-Suite connections within the financial services industry.
You will report directly to the Head of Institutional Sales.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as the sales lead for data in your respective region, either APAC or the US.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with new institutional clients, gaining a deep understanding of their needs and objectives.
- Develop and execute strategic plans to expand the client base, increase market share, and enhance product penetration.
- Demonstrate comprehensive knowledge of the company’s offerings, including crypto market infrastructure products like Digital Asset spot trading and perpetuals.
- Present and tailor these products to meet the specific needs of institutional clients, ensuring customized solutions.
- Act as the primary liaison for clients, ensuring their satisfaction and promptly addressing any issues or concerns.
- Collaborate with internal teams, including research, trading, and product development, to ensure seamless service delivery.
- Partner with marketing and compliance teams to create and distribute promotional materials, ensuring adherence to regulatory requirements.
- Develop and implement business development strategies to drive Coindesk’s growth and establish its position as a global crypto leader.
- Proactively seek and generate new business opportunities by building relationships with key stakeholders and promoting multi-product engagement.
- Establish a strong network and reputation, positioning Coindesk as a trusted partner for long-term client relationships and maximizing client ROI.
- Be results-driven, consistently striving to exceed revenue targets.
- Maintain data integrity for all sales activities and pipeline metrics.
- Develop sales intelligence and regularly report on improvements for pipeline generation.
- Travel as necessary for client meetings and relevant conferences.
Business Development
- Collaborate with the global sales team and business leaders at Coindesk, celebrating successes and thriving as a team.
- Identify and pursue strategic business development opportunities to drive Coindesk’s growth.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key industry players, partners, and stakeholders to enhance Coindesk’s market presence.
- Conduct market research and analysis to identify trends, opportunities, and the competitive landscape.
- Develop and implement innovative business development initiatives to expand Coindesk’s client base and market share.
- Work closely with internal teams to ensure alignment and successful execution of business development strategies.
Experience & Qualifications
- Proven sales experience within the crypto, global finance, and/or tech sectors.
- Deep knowledge and passion for the cryptocurrency and digital asset industry.
- Results-oriented with a proven track record of driving brand and business objectives while managing relationships.
- Possess current and well-developed industry relationships across the regions.
- Strong experience in closing sales deals and independently managing a sales funnel is essential.
- Excellent client relationship management skills with the ability to plan, record, and manage activities effectively with minimal supervision.
- Demonstrate ownership of your role through self-accountability and effective communication.
- Collaborate with team members from diverse backgrounds and areas of expertise.
- Proficient in Salesforce, Excel, PowerPoint, Slack, G Suite, DocuSign, and more.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
