We are seeking an Accountant to join our growing finance team in London/UK, contributing to both traditional accounting functions and the dynamic world of cryptocurrency and blockchain. This role offers a blend of traditional financial accounting responsibilities alongside cryptocurrency-specific tasks, providing a well-rounded opportunity for a motivated individual with an interest in digital assets and blockchain technology. As a Crypto Accountant, you’ll play a pivotal role in shaping the financial foundation of Helio, enabling us to empower merchants worldwide with cutting-edge payment solutions
You will:
Record and Reconcile daily on-chain and off-chain transactions with internal accounting systems.
Reconcile bank accounts and Wallets for accuracy.
Monitor and calculate gains/losses for cryptocurrency holdings.
Process vendor payments and invoices, track receivables and manage collections.
Support accurate and timely payroll processing for employees and contractors, including any crypto payment components, ensuring proper authorisation and documentation.
Support the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in compliance with regulatory standards.
Assist in creating budgets and forecasting financial performance, analysing variances as needed.
Stay updated on local and international cryptocurrency regulations and ensure compliance.
Collaborate with external advisors on annual reporting/fillings.
Collaborate with finance and operations teams to streamline financial and accounting workflows.
Provide insights into the financial implications of crypto and fiat operations to inform business decisions.
Support audits by preparing detailed documentation on both fiat and crypto-related transactions.
You may be a fit for this role if you have:
A bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
Professional accounting qualifications (e.g., CPA, ACCA) are preferred but not mandatory.
3-5 years of experience in accounting or finance, with exposure to both traditional accounting and cryptocurrency operations preferred.
Familiarity with accounting software (e.g., Xero, QuickBooks, Sage)
Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial regulations.
Knowledge of blockchain technology, cryptocurrency tax rules, and wallet operations.
Proficiency in spreadsheet tools.
Attention to detail and strong analytical thinking.
Excellent time management and ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Strong communication and teamwork skills.
Experience in reconciling cryptocurrency transactions or using crypto accounting tools (e.g., Tres, Cryptio) is a plus.
An understanding of decentralised finance (DeFi) and smart contracts is an advantage.
A proactive attitude towards learning and adapting to new technologies.
