About This Role:
The Director, SecOps & Infrastructure is part of the Security Operations team and reports to our CISO. As Director, SecOps & Infrastructure, you will be responsible for leading and developing the teams responsible for securing, managing, and supporting our core infrastructure and technology environments. You will also partner with all internal business units including Engineering, Product, Finance, Legal, and Compliance teams, to ensure the integrity, availability, and resilience of our systems and infrastructure, safeguarding assets and data while meeting internal and external requirements. This role demands a strategic thinker with hands-on experience, ideally within the FinTech or crypto sectors, who can navigate the unique challenges of a high-stakes, regulated industry.
Core Responsibilities (SecOps):
- Lead the security operations team to monitor, detect, respond to, and remediate security events across all environments.
- Oversee security operations tools and platforms, including XDR (e.g., Taegis XDR), SIEM, and vulnerability management systems (e.g., Wiz, SentinelOne).
- Ensure adherence to best practices in cybersecurity hygiene, including patch management, network security, endpoint protection, and data loss prevention.
- Establish and maintain a culture of proactive security across the organization through continuous security awareness training and education.
- Enhance existing, comprehensive security incident response plans (IRP), improving threat detection and response capabilities.
Core Responsibilities (Infrastructure & IT):
- Direct the IT & infrastructure teams to maintain high levels of uptime, performance, and scalability in the company’s cloud-based & remote systems.
- Oversee cloud infrastructure (AWS, Google Cloud), ensuring optimal design, scalability, and security configurations are in place.
- Define and drive network architecture standards, resilience, disaster recovery, and redundancy requirements.
- Manage system uptime and performance monitoring, working closely with DevOps and Engineering to address issues and optimize processes.
- Maintain IT systems and services (such as Google Workspace, Okta), ensuring they meet the company’s productivity, security, and compliance needs.
Leadership & Strategy:
- Build, mentor, and retain a high-performing team, establishing a culture of excellence, accountability, and continuous improvement.
- Develop a multi-year SecOps, Infra, & IT roadmap that aligns with the company’s overall business objectives.
- Collaborate with engineering, product, and other technical leaders to implement secure development practices, supporting a DevSecOps approach.
- Own the technology budget for SecOps, IT, and Infrastructure, ensuring strategic investments that support both security and scalability.
Preferred Skills/Experience:
- 10+ years of experience in networking, systems engineering, cloud computing, enterprise infrastructure management, and/or crypto (preferably a mix).
- 5+ year of leadership experience preferred.
- Hands-on knowledge of IT tools and services, such as Google Workspace, Okta, SSO, and MFA configurations.
- Relevant technical certifications based on the areas listed above.
- Experience in the cryptocurrency or financial services industry.
- Familiarity with regulatory and compliance requirements unique to the crypto/financial sector.
- Autonomy & Accountability is key; you have the drive to solve problems and motivation to work through complex technical problems.
Salary:
The starting pay range for this role is between USD$210,000 - USD$240,000 for all U.S. remote locations. The actual base pay will vary, and is dependent upon many factors, such as transferable skill sets, work experience, business needs, and market demands. The base pay range is subject to change.
