We are looking for someone experienced and innovative, who can harness the power of Flight Group to be truly “in service of Founders” who are trying to build a healthier, happier whole human experience. We need someone who can access all their knowledge of VC and supporting Founders, but also think differently.
You will be the first person in this role at Flight Group with the opportunity to build out our post-investment service and support provision for Founders. Drawing on our network, knowledge and assets - as Portfolio Manager you will play a critical role in ensuring the success and growth of our portfolio brands and founders.
You will be responsible for assessing the current performance and skills gaps across our portfolio of investment and providing support and guidance to Founders. You will use data and market knowledge to prioritise your time and consultancy.
You will own our post-investment strategy i.e. how hands on we are with new investments, how standard vs bespoke our support is, how we assess and measure success and decide on follow-on potential.
You will be part of the investment decision making process – helping shape our investment strategy and assessing opportunities against it.
Responsibilities:
- Stakeholder management with founders. Build and maintain strong relationships with portfolio brands, founders, and other stakeholders, fostering a collaborative and supportive environment
- Provide comprehensive support and guidance to founders to increase their chances of success and growth within the portfolio
- Ensure we are leveraging effective communication and collaboration between Flight support services, media services and other portfolio brands
- Set up networking and collaboration groups and systems. Ensure we are using the full power of our impressive network and that our Founders are able to make the most of it
- Help determine how we add most value, e.g. whether a full incubator/ accelerator programme, or a more focused and niche offering
- Monitor performance of portfolio brands, design structure for receiving and tracking financial information, be a board observer/ contributor
- Identify areas for improvement in our process and implement actions as necessary
Must Haves:
- Proven experience in investment management, portfolio management, or a related field
- Strong understanding of business operations, finance, marketing, and strategic planning
- Direct experience in building a business would be preferred
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills - great relationship manager with the ability to build rapport and influence stakeholders at all levels.
- Analytical mindset with the ability to assess complex situations and develop practical solutions
- Proactive and results-driven approach, with a strong focus on driving portfolio growth and success.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities effectively.

2nd Stage Interview - Task - Through the task round you get an insight into the day to day responsibilities of the role and we get the opportunity to understand how you work.
Final Stage Interview - The final interview involves meeting a Senior Stakeholder in the business.
