Upvest, founded in 2017, enables any financial institution to offer great investment experiences to its customers. Upvest is an investment firm regulated by the German supervision authority (BaFin). The company currently employs 160+ people across Europe with its headquarters based in Berlin, Germany.

We’re looking for fintech enthusiasts to join us in creating the financial infrastructure of tomorrow. We’re building the first European Investment API to enable any financial institution offering a wide range of efficient and transparent investment products, such as stocks and ETFs in nominal, portfolio, and fractional form. Our mission and vision is to make investing as easy as spending money.
We’re based in Berlin but are also open to hiring remotely in Germany or Estonia for this role. If you're currently based elsewhere but would like to move to Germany, we’re happy to support your relocation.
Your mission:
At Upvest, you'll become an integral part of our Data Management community where Analysts, and Engineers collaborate to learn and grow together. Moreover, our integrated organisational structure provides you with the opportunity to work closely across finance, product, engineering, finance, and operations areas.
This role will give you the opportunity to:
- Data Analysis and Insights: Dive into complex datasets to extract valuable insights and trends that drive data-informed decisions, ensuring our B2B offerings are optimised for success.
- Client Data Analysis & Customised Reporting: You'll conduct in-depth analysis of client data to provide actionable insights and create custom reports and data visualisations tailored to our B2B clients' specific needs, enabling them to make informed decisions and gain a competitive edge.
- Data Architecture and Tools: Collaborate on data architecture projects with a primary focus on achieving 100% data consistency. Utilise advanced tools such as DBT, BigQuery, and Looker, prioritising data quality and integrity in all data modelling and analysis tasks. This approach enhances our ability to meet client needs by ensuring consistent and reliable data.
- Cross-Functional Impact: Collaborate with various teams, including developers and product managers, to seamlessly integrate your data-driven insights into our B2B products and services, driving continuous improvement.
- Data Strategy Implementation and Product Enhancement: Play a pivotal role in executing our data strategy, ensuring that data-driven solutions are seamlessly integrated into our B2B offerings, and work to enhance our financial APIs and services based on data-driven insights that meet our clients' evolving needs. Additionally, actively support the initiative to transform our data into a standalone product, leveraging your analytical skills to develop valuable insights and features that can be marketed and sold to a wider audience, thus expanding our revenue streams and market presence
Job requirements:
- Data-Driven Impact: You will play a crucial role in our data analytics team, contributing to data collection, cleaning, and analysis. By developing analytical models, interpreting trends, and presenting your findings, you will help shape our business intelligence solutions and drive our data capabilities forward.

Minimum requirements
- Graduate or current master's student in Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, or related fields, with at least 2 semesters completed.
- Ability to understand technical information quickly, derive insights, and devise solutions.
- Ideally, you have already gained practical experience in conducting quantitative analysis (e. g. experience abroad, internships) and are interested in financial data
- Familiarity with statistical techniques, data visualisation, and database management is advantageous.
- Experience with Business Intelligence (BI) tools such as Looker or PowerBI.
- You have good knowledge of SQL and Python (PySpark, pandas, scikit-learn) or other programming languages
- A self starter with a strong sense of ownership for your work and an ability to iterate quickly
- A team player who is excited about working with a diverse range of colleagues
- Fluent in English, both written and spoken
- Based in Berlin (where our office is located) to experience the unique team culture at Upvest
