About the role
21Shares is seeking a highly motivated Associate to join the Portfolio Management team. The role involves designing, developing, and managing both passive and active ETF investment strategies. Additionally, the Associate will be responsible for monitoring ETF-specific primary and secondary markets, including spreads, trading volumes, and overall liquidity. In this position, you will leverage your expertise in cryptocurrency, financial products, and client portfolios to deliver comprehensive investment solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist the portfolio manager in the day-to-day management and rebalancing of the 21Shares EMEA product suite.
- Execute and oversee creation/redemption orders for both in-kind and in-cash ETPs, requiring OTC trading of crypto assets.
- Develop research materials and market reports to support investment decisions and serve as content to share with clients.
- Analyze portfolio positioning, performance attribution, risk exposures, and key drivers of returns.
- Providing ETP surveillance by monitoring day-to-day market quality of ETP products including volume, primary market flows, and spreads.
- Work closely with market participants, including Authorized Participants, Lead Market Makers, and Market Makers, while liaising with internal teams at 21Shares to handle requests from clients and the sales team.
- Assisting in the launch of new products, ensuring strong execution and stakeholder management.

Qualifications
- 1+ years of experience in portfolio management, sales and trading, or a related financial services experience. MSc preferred.
- Essential coding skills in Python and SQL; experience with Bloomberg and Excel (VBA or other programming languages is a plus). Comfortable working with data and knowing what questions to ask of it.
- Experience or knowledge in derivatives portfolio management, including futures and options, along with understanding of rebalancing multi-asset ETFs.
- Practical experience trading crypto assets and a strong understanding of blockchain technology, and the unique characteristics of crypto assets and their market dynamics.
- Ability to collaborate effectively across departments, including compliance, legal, capital markets, operations, sales, and marketing.
- Enthusiasm for learning new topics and adapting in a rapidly evolving crypto investment landscape.
